Screw Compressor is one of the important equipment in many industries. Therefore, its strength, durability and reliability must be well maintained. So that it still has performance in accordance with its main function. However, one of the problems that often arise in screw compressors is the lubrication system.
Referring to some research results, it is stated that the source of water in the oil is found due to the change in oil color. Moisture content analysis showed that 6% of water was found in the oil in the third month. Indeed, the presence of water had a detrimental effect on parts of the screw compressor, indicating that corrosion had occurred on the inside of the screw compressor element.
In some studies, it was found that the source of water comes from the air due to high humidity. Therefore, modifications to the air supply are needed to prevent water contamination of the oil. Modification of the air supply is done by using dry air at the outlet of the screw compressor which is flowed into the absorption system.
The screw compressor is the most important machine that functions to produce pressurized air. Then this air will be used to drive other production machines that work automatically for 24 hours non-stop. So it will continue to require compressed air continuously to ensure product quality and availability.
Screw compressors are needed in preparing the air supply. Air availability in this machine will be used when equipment/instrumentation such as drive valveControl valves, control valves, and others perform operational systems.
